Happy Birthday.....
Yesterday went dinner with my family to celebrate my dad's and 2nd bro's birthday, dad's birthday is next week while 2nd bro's was last sat, as i am working on both days hence arranged it yesterday. Dinner was at Peach Blossoms at Marina Mandarin Hotel, din tried it before but recommended by 2nd bro that the food there is good......the last time we went there was few months back at Aqua Marine, one level below Peach Blossoms which serves nice international buffet.....
Started to drizzle when we reach there around 6.30pm and the carpark was so full due to a number of wedding dinner going on, 1st bro reached shortly after us and we decided on the set menu for 8 though there were only 7 of us (1st sis-in-law still in US, back next year) as we were too lazy to order from the ala carte menu.....
The restaurant setting looks very china oriented but comfortable, the staff was friendly and the service was good.....though one waiter mistakenly pour hot water into the glass that was meant for our champagne, me, rach and my 2nd sis-in-law looked at each other in surprise, guess the waiter was quite new and he looked pai seh......
Anyway back to the food, 1st dish was Peking Duck wrapped with spinach crepe, nice combination as it was usually serve with those yellowish crepe.....next in line was their shark's fin served in golden melon, it was very very nice, thick and creamy which are on par with the shark's fin at Lei Garden, the best i tried to date......by the third dish i was already half full as their serving were quite generous.......some pictures to share.....
The bill comes to about $550 plus but the food quality was definitely worth it....... more makan sessions coming up for these few weeks.......(poly kaki's gathering, 2 weddings dinner, feasting in M'sia, christmas and new year's dinner)............means spending more $$$........hopefully the bonus for this year will be a "fat" bonus.........

If given a choice.....
Nothing much happen these days, working and having my off days are the norm .....was on standby yesterday, and was waiting for the "ATC Recall" number to appear on my phone but it did not come.....hahaha dun actually mind gng back on weekdays but not weekends......though it meant extra few hundred dollars but weekends are reserved for family.....anyway morgan msg me asking to meet up together with munyi in town, as i was on standby, told him that i will confirm with him later again.......as the clock ticks, the chances of being recall minimize, thus arranged to meet up at around 12pm in orchard.....we walked from royal plaza on scotts, goodwood park and york hotel to check out their high tea and all start at around 2 plus except york hotel, no high tea on weekdays, so decided to went far east for lunch instead......went inside this Ramen Ten restuarant at the basemen....... the ramen they served was not bad but not the drinks.......ordered a kiwi soda but taste like medicine syrup.......*yucks* left half of it untouched.......
After lunch, went to LIDO to check out wat movies was available......the show that suits our timing and that has not been watch by anyone of us was "Lust & Caution", the uncut version.....hahaha....... got our seats 4-5 rows in front as most of the seats were taken up......the cinema was small as i guess the movie will be off-screen soon.......chairs were squeaky and a bit cramped.....can see uncles and aunties taking their seats behind us......the show was around 2 and half hrs.....sat till my bum give way.....the crampy seats makes it worse......was quite a relief when the show finally ends though the ending was a bit crappy.......
Karen was to meet us in orchard to discuss her wedding plans with munyi, so went to forum's coffee bean to wait for her....she reached around 5plus and it was quite hard for the 4 of us to meet together as we are all in the different watch.....chatted for a while before it was time for me to pick up rach......dropped morgan off at redhill mrt before my way down to outram park.....
Went to eat stingray with rach as she was craving for it......went to our usual favourite place for it...... ate till my sweat was like a spoilt tap which kept running..... while we were discussing our christmas plans, rach pop up a question asking, "if given a choice to be a woman for one day, who do u like to be?"....... hahaha.....at tat moment, a few names pop up in my mind, "Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman etc.....wans to be in their shoes and experience wat sort of life are they leading when you are under the media scrutiny every moment.......she suggested i be her and she be me......hahaha anyway it was all our boliao imagination and fantasy thinking at tat time......but no harm juz thinking of it......so "if given a choice......who do u wan to be?"

*****Seasons Greeting*****
Finally received the roster for december, anticipating whether my leave had been approved.....fortunately managed to get my leave on 9th, 10th and 25th(christmas)....... will be gng to KL with Rach as planned on the 6th and return by 9th to attend karen's wedding.....much hype has been say about the latest shopping mall, Pavillion & The Gardens in KL......so decided to check it out since rach has been so enthusiatic about it......for christmas, initially wanted to book The Scarlet Hotel, a boutique hotel situated at Erskine Rd, near Maxwell Market, but it was fully booked, scout for a few alternatives before setting our sights on Pan Pacific..... time seems to pass so fast before we even realising it......it will be another brand new year before u knew it...... =)
Yesterday after my morning duty, went home to catch a wink before waking up at 12plus, picked up rach at 1 plus to go for our high tea at Orchard Hotel.....the hotel had already done up its deco for christmas and u could sense the season greetings in the air......the cafe was on the 2nd storey juz beside Hua Ting, a chinese restuarant tat serves nice authenic cantonese food, went there once with my family, and the food was really good...... anyway our high tea was at La Terrasse , the food was not bad especially their assorted sandwiches and salmon sandwiches.....i also like the cosy sofa and nice ambience accompanied by the smoothing music played by the pianist juz directly below us......my ideal type of afternoon, lazing around having my coffee and nice spread of pastries and sandwiches etc.....
"erhmm, nice"
Christmas Deco in Orchard Hotel
Christmas Deco in Takashimaya
Digestion comes in the form of walking from one end of orchard till the other..... took a few christmas decos photos along the way....... while walking we also saw a cute little girl dressed up as snow white taking photos with the christmas deco, hahaha....... coincidentally bumped into Songde while on the way to Taka, one of the good friends i made during NS days, still the same old him and will be meeting him and the rest of them this coming dec for our yearly meetup.......=)
While on our way back to pick up the car in the evening, decided to have our drinks at Jackie's Chan Cafe.....went there the last time but din try it out (as post in my previous post) so decided to give it a shot since we are quite full and only need to quench our thirst......order a mango pudding and their so called speciality, Dragonberry Frappe......not much customers at the time, only two of us plus another couple, found ourselves a nice cosy corner and enjoy our drink and desserts......the mango pudding was so-so and the price was a bit of the high side considering the quantity and quality, but i must admit that the Dragonberry Frappe was nice...... sweet and sourish juz nice to the tastebuds and goes down smoothly.......at least for mine......strongly recommended if anyone was to go............ all rite, tat's all for yesterday and today will be enjoying my Dvds......enjoy the weekend my friends.......

4 musketeers.....
Arranged to meet up with munyi and morgan after their morning duty this morning to check out some wedding packages together with our groom-to-be, mr steven......met them up at 12pm outside orchard parade hotel to begin our "mission"........
1st stop- Orchard Parade Hotel's Club Chinois
Interior and ambience of the restaurant looks nice for their normal dining but for wedding dinner, felt a bit cramped though.....guess the food there should be quite nice too since its under the Tung Lok Group....shall go there check it out with my family one day.......after the briefing by the humorous and young looking person-in-charge, we left for lunch at Far East Plaza.....had Hainanese Chicken Rice at the top storey, it serves nice chicken rice, meat was tender and juicy but the soup was too salty to my liking......
2nd stop - Grand Hyatt
With the name associated, the prices of the wedding packages are definitely more ex than the previous we enquire..... and i guess each do have their individual pros and cons......but feels that they are quite inflexible in certain ways.....anyway all are in my own opinions.......
***stevie if u r reading this - Hilton not a bad choice too since u can have the famous Hilton's cheesecakes.....i wan my own slice, i dun like to share.......hahaha******
It was movie time at Lido after tat, watched "Beowulf", din know tat it was a 3D movie, it was not very much up to my expectation as it was dragy and the storyline was quite predictable......Dinner was at Hard Rock Cafe with them.....shared 3 main courses and one Jumbo Combo......din really finish everything off......servings are too big and i guess the chicken rice this afternoon had yet to be digested......and continue to chit-chat till 8plus before heading home......and here i am now writing down today's event.......one more cycle of work before my weekend off where i can spend some time with rach for our food and shopping indulges...... =)
(some photos taken today using my handphone.....)
munyi & stevie
boliao me taken on the way back.....

Our saturday......
Wake up this morning around 9 plus......had our breakfast bought by mummy this morning, vegetarian beehoon.......i enjoy having breakfast while reading the newspapers with my must have coffee by my side.....shiok......but kanna scolding by rach, no reading while eating......anyway it was lazing around by the pc watching mobtv......it was until 11plus before my 2nd bro called up jioing us for lunch, decided to go Jackie's Chan Cafe along Nassim Rd to try it out since the magazine have been advertising and promoting it 2 weeks in a row (together with mummy, 2nd bro, sis-in-law and rach) ......reached there around 1plus, to our disappointment, it was not wat we thought it is, the menu they have are so limited with only a few hot dishes like egg tarts, char siew bao and can't rem what they have already (it is this limited), though it did have a cosy setting we decided to go elsewhere for lunch.......
oops... poor photo taking skills by rach (if u can notice)
Drove on to the Hong Kong Cafe along novena, the so called original "char cha teng"..... compared to the former, they offer much more dishes in their menu......order quite a num of dishes......after tat was shopping at square 2......it was my 1st time since it opened and there are quite a num of shops that sells korean and japanese stuff.......had our desserts at Mango Lingo, a store as it name implies sold most of their desserts using mango.......not bad though.......and before gng back, went on to buy donuts from the Donut Factory, their latest outlet that opened in novena square......all rite got to go watch the dvds i rent juz now.... share some of the pictures we took just now including some wacky wan inside my room...... =P
the unglamorous makan.....

Monday Non-blues....
Guess everyone having their monday blues gng to work, quite the opposite for me as i am just off work yesterday morning.....anyway went to this kopitiam along Craig Rd for prawn mee with my colleagues (kenny - recalled, kelvin, alvin, adrian & adelene) after work, the place was recommended by kenny, it was my 3rd time there though the 2nd time we went there, it was closed......the prawn mee was nt bad with pork ribs included but wat i like most is the soup they served, thick and nice which leaves the after taste in ur mouth for quite some time.......not bad for a non - lover for prawn mee like me.......
anyway we finish at around 10am as we stay around chit chatting about cars, house and etc......reached home around 10.30am and washed up before meeting kenny and adelene again at khung hui's (2nd day off) hse for mahjong.....started our mahjong session at 1plus ...... screwed up a few times as i am an amatuer and was not familiar with some of the rules of the game.....even "ja hu" once..... oops.....damm paiseh...... by the way sorry guys for being patient with me though i screwed up =P ...... it was fun though.......finished our game around 5.30pm before picking up rach at her workplace to went for dinner.......
initially planned to have porridge at chinatown but it was closed thus proceed to Happy Valley Hong Kong Cafe along tiong bahru.......the food there was not very much to my liking but loved their siew mai though but i guess it will be a long time before i will patronize them again.......will be trying out the Jackie's Chan Cafe in Nassim Rd soon when i have the chance.......slept for a full 12 hrs yesterday at 9pm before waking up this morning.......refreshed.....some videos to share....
the last wan is funny...... see it for urself.....

蒲公英的约定......
Just finished watching the Arsenal vs Man Utd match, ended 2-2, it was a close game and both team played well......later in the night will be the Blackburn vs Liverpool match, wun be watching as i am working morn & night duty tml.....hopefully the Rovers will win as i am a Blackburn fan......Uploaded one of Jay Chou's new song from his latest album, 蒲公英的约定 , this is one of the song i like most in the album.....lyrics are as below ......hope u enjoy it.....
