Yesterday went dinner with my family to celebrate my dad's and 2nd bro's birthday, dad's birthday is next week while 2nd bro's was last sat, as i am working on both days hence arranged it yesterday. Dinner was at Peach Blossoms at Marina Mandarin Hotel, din tried it before but recommended by 2nd bro that the food there is good......the last time we went there was few months back at Aqua Marine, one level below Peach Blossoms which serves nice international buffet.....
Started to drizzle when we reach there around 6.30pm and the carpark was so full due to a number of wedding dinner going on, 1st bro reached shortly after us and we decided on the set menu for 8 though there were only 7 of us (1st sis-in-law still in US, back next year) as we were too lazy to order from the ala carte menu.....
The restaurant setting looks very china oriented but comfortable, the staff was friendly and the service was good.....though one waiter mistakenly pour hot water into the glass that was meant for our champagne, me, rach and my 2nd sis-in-law looked at each other in surprise, guess the waiter was quite new and he looked pai seh......
Anyway back to the food, 1st dish was Peking Duck wrapped with spinach crepe, nice combination as it was usually serve with those yellowish crepe.....next in line was their shark's fin served in golden melon, it was very very nice, thick and creamy which are on par with the shark's fin at Lei Garden, the best i tried to date......by the third dish i was already half full as their serving were quite generous.......some pictures to share.....
The bill comes to about $550 plus but the food quality was definitely worth it....... more makan sessions coming up for these few weeks.......(poly kaki's gathering, 2 weddings dinner, feasting in M'sia, christmas and new year's dinner)............means spending more $$$........hopefully the bonus for this year will be a "fat" bonus.........
