What is it like to be an Air Traffic Controller?
1) We hold more lives in our hands in one average shift than a medical doctor does in his whole career
2) Pilots dun understand us or even listen somtimes but rely on us to save them when they need us
3) We can't imagine doing any other job
4 ) We can't make our "clients" wait until we are ready for them , we are always in control
5) Our spouse will never understand us or what we really do
6) We will control traffic in our sleep
7) No one can never imagine the stress
8) Indecision is unacceptable in any scenario while in position
9) We don't get toilet breaks whenever we need them while in position
10) We don't know what normal sleeping patterns are
11) We work in the middle of the night, weekends, public holidays & everyday
12) We will never have "normal" days off & regular social life
13) Our friends won't understand that we can't just leave work
14) People think that we are the guys on the tarmac with the flashlights
15) We may be the last person a pilot talks to on this earth
16) We use anticipated separation when we drive
17) We expect people to say what they mean & mean what they say
18) We are responsible for knowing more rules than humanly possible
19) We cant tolerate a read-back error & are always impatient
